ParetoLogic was named one of “Profit Magazine’s Hot 50″ for its extremely popular RegCure software, now they’ve created a new computer fixing program: DriverCure.
The software was designed to stop the common hassle of diagnosing and finding software and hardware drivers. The Driver Cure software promises to fix everything from videos not working to broken CD or DVD drives. Since drivers run act as the buffer between hardware and the computer’s operating system, they’re essential to everything on a computer.
DriverCure works with a huge database of different hardware vendors and send you updates on new drivers or download and install drivers automatically. ParetoLogic’s list of vendors covers the biggest brands down to the most obscure thrifty hardware manufacturers.
Ease of Use:
DriverCure was a quick and simple installation. First, users Download DriverCure then just click small file and it performs a scan of the computer’s hardware. The scan takes two to three minutes to complete and gives a list of all the out of date drivers. From there, its just the matter of clicking the big green “Fix” button. The first time you run DriverCure, it will list the computer’s driver issues, then prompts users to enter their license key or buy the software for $29.95.
Once the software is validated, the extremely user-friendly interface of five buttons is easy to get the hang of. The buttons are as follows.
- Scan: users can run system scans and see all their drivers, highlighting missing or outdated drivers.
- History: users can see when the last scan was complete and what issues if any were corrected.
- Ignore: users can create a list of hardware or drivers that they don’t want updated. (Mostly for advanced users with special gaming fixes or overclocking tricks)
- Schedule: users can set up a scheduled time to run DriverCure’s scan and download feature. Scans can be scheduled daily, weekly or far in the future.
- About: users can find general and technical help and information about DriverCure.
The buttons are self-explanatory and make sense to everyone from PC beginners to experts.
From the settings menu, users can quickly make DriverCure completely automatic and allow it to download and install each new, needed driver. They can set up e-mail alerts too, allowing them to only run DriverCure when necessary drivers are available.
Support:
The “About” button in DriverCure has an option to connect directly to a technical support expert from ParetoLogic. They promise to answer help requests quickly via e-mail.
The download also includes a detailed manual and glossary for the software.
Price:
At $29.95 (with a $10 off coupon from ParetoLogic), DriverCure is quite competitivly priced when compared to similar software like Driver Detective; which costs almost the same at $30, but comes with fewer features.
The cost says low because there are no CDs to deal with or packaging to speak of. Stripping the price to the bare minimum in the realm of pricey system software.
Overall:
DriverCure is a straightforward, easy to use tool for anyone looking to skip the hassle of finding the latest drivers or wondery why their printer or DVD drive doesn’t work.
The computer fixing software can help advanced users who don’t want to waste the time and beginners asking “how to fix my computer.”
DriverCure also uses very little system memory, keeping resources free for games, movies or music without any slowdown. Though it’s not designed as a piece of security software, DriverCure also keeps users from downloading fake or possibly damaging drivers — a common source for computer-crippling viruses and other malware.
